Eliz

Eliz was born on November 27th. I was also taking pictures of the birth and as every birth it was a very emotional time for me. She is such a cuttie pie and I enjoyed doing her newborn session.

I’m nost sure what I liked the most of this session really…everything! The fact that the whole family was present (including Eliz great grand-mother), Alp’smile any time he sees his little girl, Gamze’s usual relax attitude or holding Eliz after the session!

Anyway, here are the pictures…I hope you like them;0)

Gamze and Alp…and their Vespa!

I met Gamze and Alp in their beautiful house in Yenikoy. Gamze was due the following week but you would never had guessed it as she was so full of energy. Alp was very relaxed and also very excited to know that the third member of the family (his Vespa) was also going to be part of the family picture;0)I decided to meet them that day as I knew they were also meeting the doula  that night and I wanted to get a few shots while were practicing breathing exercices. I enjoyed seing the trust trust between Gamze and Ozge (the doula) and I realized how important it is sometimes for a woman to have the support of an other woman during the birth process.

I just loved the simplicity of the session…no make up and no poses…exactly what I like!

Ege

When I post pictures on the blog, I usually post no more than 10 pictures because I want to keep the surprise for the parents when they receive the CD with the rest of the pictures. This time it has been incredibly difficult to choose the best as I love all the pictures . Ege was three weeks old when I took those pictures last week. It’s the best age to take pictures of newborn. He  was just so good during this session. We kept moving him from places to places and he never cried or  seemed to be to bothered when we changed him. This session was probably the longest session I did with a baby. I just could n’t stop taking pictures of him as he was just so cute! I hope you like them;0)

The smile of Kerem…

Last week I have had the pleasure photographing little Kerem and his mum and dad. It usually takes at least two hours to photograph a 5 months-old-baby as they usually get quickly tired and mummies need to calm their little ones between two poses. But Kerem  kept smiling and smiling no matter how many times we changed him and no matter what position we would put him. And what a smile! I hope you will enjoy it Ali & Zeynep. I would also like to thank Hugo for his fantastic contribution in making everyone laugh that day;0)

Portraits of three musketeers…and their mum…

It is hard to take pictures of three boys…but when those three boys are your nephews, it’s a real challenge! Sometimes the fact that you are a stranger in their home impresses them and somehow the session is more manageable. But you are their aunt, you have to use all sort of tricks to make them stay together without fighting for more than 5 minutes.  I was quiet proud of myself when I saw the result! So I introduced to my beautiful sister and nephews: Claire, Eliot, Samuel and Noé! I hope you enjoy them as I do.

Idil is back on the blog

Time flies when you have fun…remember little Idil? http://patriciawillocq.wordpress.com/2010/07/20/88/

Well she is already one year old and she is as cute as ever with her big blue yes and her curly blond hair;0)

Anyway, Ridvan and Ceren (her parents) organised a little party for her and I was curious to know whether or not she would realize what was going on. I’ not sure she did but she very much enjoyed  the attention she got, the presents (she got a white rocking horse!), and the blowing of her one candle…I guess it must have been a shock for her to wake up the day after back to her daily routine. She was probably wondering “where is the party for me? where are my new presents? why do I only get attention from two people today?” ;0)

Enjoy the pictures guys…

Hugo, mon p’tit bouchon…

Hugo has had not one but two sessions…well, what wouldn’t you do for one of your best friends whom you  see so seldom?

Remember my gorgeous friend Aurore? I took picture of her round belly a few months ago:  http://patriciawillocq.wordpress.com/2010/07/20/aurores-pregnancy/

We managed to meet three weeks ago during one of my busiest week in Ankara. I made my way to her house through 15 cm of snow, was welcome by Beau their old great pyrenean shepherd dog and we sat down and started our usual girlie chat while Hugo was sleeping. Then Hugo Bora finally woke up to our delight and we started shooting. The good thing with Aurore is that she’s got an artistic eyes so together we find great compositions for the pictures. So the result is always a pleasure for the eyes. And as for Mali, he was just busy thinking of ways to visually impressed his Irish friend – also known in Ankara as the king of poker (see the picture with the shamrock on Hugo’s chest).

I hope you’ll enjoy watching the pictures as much as I’ve taken them;0)

Defne, a new star was born…

Talk about confidence! Defne is 3 months and I presume I may have to introduce her to Yildirim Mayruk in a few years from now! She is a just a natural poseur who  follows the camera, smile and make faces to have great portfolio of herself;0)

Isn’t she the cuttest little girl? With her chubby arms, her smiles and her hapiness!

I enjoyed this session a lot and I hope she will keep that confidence that makes her shine like a little star!

Karmen and her zoo…

Karmen is two and a half years old. She has absolutely no interest in dolls or fancy Barbies. But she will talk to you passionately for hours about the life of  tigers, panthers or wolves in English or Turkish. She is a bright, strong-minded and smiley little girl!

I loved the session we did together  because it was very unusual for me. Rather than talking to  Meryem and Ken -her parents- to find out what sort of family portraits they had in mind, I had to deal with Karmen instead. She directed the session from beginning to end! She decided which rooms we were going to use, wether or not Jack the dog or Ior the donkey woud be part of the composition, when we were supposed  to take the next series of pictures, etc

It was a lot of fun and I hope we will meet again in Ankara…or Konya;0)

Yekta: Küçük Prens

When I met Cenk before the session he said two things to me: “I’ve got a little angel at home” and “My wife is stunning”…Oh boy he was right!
I just loved this session because Cenk and Defne trusted me a 100% whith their baby which allowed me to be more creative.
Little Yekta is really a little angel although when I placed him on the chair he suddenly looked like Saint-Exupéri’s Petit Prince!      I hope you will like it…

Aurore’s pregnancy

I love this session. I met Aurore and Mali about a year ago in Ankara and we  immediately clicked. When Aurore asked me to take pictures of her maternity I was just so thrilled! Of course the session had to include Beau their 60kg pyrean shepherd who decided to play the game that day! Aurore and Mali are so happy and in love that the images came out just great. I just can’t wait to meet Hugo their little one who is expected to arrive in September…

Idil

It is just impossible to look at Idil for more than 5 minutes without giggling ! The more you look at her, the more she makes faces just to get your attention and make you laugh…I had so much fun during that session with Ceren and Idil and the pictures were just amazing…

Kuzey

It took us a long time to organise the session for Kuzey but it was definitely worth it! When I look at the pictures I just love the simplicity of it…no posing, no fake smiles…just the everyday life of a cute little family enjoying their free time with their son. I hope you like this session as much as I do;0)

Tommy

Little Tom discovered his hands two weeks ago and we constantly had to remind him not to put them in front of his face while taking pictures. But Tom thought that it was the best discovery of the month and did not really care for photos. Anyway, he is such an adorable little boy,  so young but yet so conscious already of what’s going on around him. I really enjoyed the session and he gave some of his best faces! Hope you like the pictures!
